The Battle of Abydos: A Small Team Against a God

Instead, the team encountered the Abydonians, discovered their connection to ancient Egypt, and learned that Ra still ruled through fear, guards, and technological spectacle. This episode reconstructs the battle around the pyramid, the uprising led by Abydonian workers, and the decision to transport the nuclear weapon aboard Ra’s ship. Earth’s soldiers could not defeat Ra’s forces alone, while the local population lacked modern weapons and knowledge of the enemy’s vulnerability. Victory came when both sides combined what they possessed: military skill, cultural understanding, numbers, and the refusal to continue treating Ra as divine.
