Production briefing

THIS HISTORY IS BEING BUILT.

This archive will examine Starfleet as an exploratory institution repeatedly compelled to function as a military force. It will connect the Federation's political ideals to the realities of deterrence, border conflict, fleet mobilization, coalition war, occupation, and survival.

Planned historical coverage

THE QUESTIONS THIS LORECAST WILL FOLLOW.

The season plan can evolve as research and production continue.

01

The Birth of Starfleet

Earth's postwar recovery, early exploration, the Romulan War, and the security foundations of the Federation.

02

Federation Defense

Starfleet organization, ship design, border policy, deterrence, and the tension between exploration and military readiness.

03

Klingon and Romulan Conflict

Rival strategic cultures, intelligence, alliance politics, and the long contest along Federation borders.

04

The Borg Threat

Assimilation, technological asymmetry, catastrophic first contact, and Starfleet's struggle to prepare for existential war.

05

The Dominion War

Mobilization, coalition strategy, fleet battles, occupation, logistics, intelligence, and the Federation's greatest conventional war.

06

The Postwar Federation

Reconstruction, institutional strain, new threats, and the long-term cost of turning Starfleet into a wartime force.

Flexible by design

ONE IDENTITY. AS MANY SEASONS AS THE HISTORY SUPPORTS.

A lorecast does not need ten seasons to be complete. A focused 25-episode season can provide a full military history, while later productions, books, games, or newly developed research can justify another season without reorganizing the site or asking listeners to find a different feed.
