Enemy at the Gate: The Wraith Assault on Earth

“Enemy at the Gate” brought the Pegasus war to Earth when the ZPM-powered super-hive entered the Milky Way with the planet’s coordinates. Daedalus-class battlecruisers and Earth’s remaining Ancient defenses attempted to intercept a vessel able to absorb extraordinary punishment and deploy darts against the homeworld. This episode reconstructs the final emergency, from Todd’s warning and the failed effort to destroy the hive in Pegasus to the battle in Earth orbit. Atlantis possessed the drones and shielding needed to challenge the ship, but the city remained stranded in another galaxy until Rodney McKay risked an experimental wormhole drive. The jump brought Atlantis to Earth in time to engage the super-hive and destroy it before the Wraith could begin a planetary culling. The city then descended toward San Francisco Bay under cloak.
