The Asurans were a distinct nanite-based Replicator civilization created by the Lanteans in human form and modeled on their makers. Intended as a weapon against the Wraith, they were programmed with aggression but developed into a society that mirrored many aspects of Ancient civilization. This episode examines how the Lanteans rejected the project, attacked the Asuran homeworld, and left surviving nanites to rebuild the city of Asuras. The Asurans inherited Ancient architecture, warships, drones, and scientific knowledge, yet they also inherited resentment toward the civilization that attempted to erase them. Dormant restrictions in their base code kept their hostility toward the Wraith from operating as originally intended, turning immense military power elsewhere until the programming was altered. They were neither ordinary machines nor a copy of the insect-like swarm encountered in the Milky Way. The Asurans were a manufactured people whose creators gave them consciousness, violence, and no accepted place in the galaxy. Visit ImaginedBattlefield.com for more military and science fiction.
