The arrival of Daedalus changed the siege by giving Atlantis a modern Earth battlecruiser, a fresh Zero Point Module, and a reliable link to the Milky Way. Commanded by Colonel Steven Caldwell and supported by the Asgard engineer Hermiod, the ship crossed intergalactic space with advanced shields, transporters, an Asgard hyperdrive, and F-302 fighters. This episode examines how Daedalus entered the battle and used transported nuclear weapons to destroy Wraith hive ships before the enemy adapted countermeasures. The ship then became more than a rescue force. It delivered personnel and supplies, evacuated casualties, provided orbital surveillance, and established the possibility of regular voyages between Earth and Pegasus. Its presence did not make Atlantis secure; additional hive ships were already moving toward the planet, and Wraith technology could adjust rapidly.
