The Destruction of Dakara

Dakara was the birthplace of Jaffa servitude, the symbolic capital of their liberation, and the location of an Ancient device capable of altering life across the galaxy. During the Ori war, Free Jaffa leaders used that weapon in a desperate counterstrike against a world held by Adria’s forces. The attack killed large numbers of people without distinguishing adequately between occupiers, converts, and those trapped under their control. This episode examines the strategic fear and moral collapse behind that decision, as well as Adria’s survival through personal shielding. The Ori retaliated by sending a mothership to Dakara and destroying the planet from orbit. The strike eliminated the Ancient weapon, shattered the political center of the Free Jaffa Nation, and erased one of the greatest symbols of their revolution. Dakara’s destruction showed how rapidly a liberation movement could lose legitimacy and strategic capacity when it adopted the mass-killing methods of the empires it opposed.
