The Battle of Kallana: Creating the Supergate Beachhead

Kallana was the Ori’s first attempt to create a permanent intergalactic beachhead in the Milky Way. A Prior arrived through the planet’s Stargate and activated a device that generated an expanding force field, absorbing attacks and converting surrounding matter into the structure needed for a much larger gate. This episode reconstructs Stargate Command’s effort to stop the process, the failure of conventional bombardment, and the discovery that the Ori intended to collapse the planet into a black hole capable of powering a Supergate. The defenders faced a weaponized engineering project rather than a conventional army. Every attack fed energy into the field, while the expanding barrier consumed the world it occupied. Vala used a cargo ship in a desperate attempt to disrupt the forming ring and disappeared when the plan succeeded only partially. Kallana delayed the invasion but did not eliminate the concept.
