The weapon at Dakara was not originally built to fight Replicators. Created by the Ancients, it could deconstruct matter into fundamental components and, according to the surviving explanation, had once been used in restoring life to the Milky Way after catastrophe. Samantha Carter, Jacob Carter, Selmak, and Ba’al recalibrated the device to recognize the Replicators’ unique structure. Their plan required simultaneous transmission through the Stargate network so the destructive pulse would reach machine forces across the galaxy before they could adapt or flee. Free Jaffa defended Dakara, Replicator Carter moved to seize the weapon, and Daniel Jackson briefly interfered with the collective long enough for the final sequence to proceed. The pulse destroyed the Replicators throughout the Milky Way and ended their offensive against the Goa’uld. Victory carried a severe cost, including the final decline of Selmak and Jacob. Dakara succeeded because former enemies combined Ancient technology, Goa’uld knowledge, Tok’ra experience, and human improvisation.
