The destruction of Netu ended Sokar’s rise, but the victory created a new threat. This episode follows SG-1, Martouf, Jacob Carter, and Selmak as they attempted to escape the prison moon while the Tok’ra prepared an explosive device powerful enough to destroy Netu and Sokar’s vessel above it. Inside the prison, Apophis discarded the identity of Na’onak, killed Bynarr, and manipulated inmates in a bid to seize control of the escape. The rescue team had to survive both the collapsing prison order and the approaching detonation, with little margin for error. When Netu exploded, the blast destroyed Sokar and prevented his planned offensive against the other System Lords. Apophis, however, escaped the disaster and moved to claim the military structure his former captor had built. The campaign demonstrated a recurring pattern in Goa’uld politics: removing one tyrant could transfer ships, soldiers, and opportunity to another.
