The Goa’uld War Economy: Naquadah, Slavery, and Tribute

The Goa’uld empire was sustained by an extractive war economy built on naquadah, enslaved labor, tribute, and control of transportation. This episode examines how conquered worlds supplied the raw materials, food, skilled workers, hosts, and Jaffa recruits needed to maintain palaces, fleets, weapons, and monumental displays of divine power. Naquadah was especially important because it stored and amplified enormous amounts of energy, making it central to Stargates, reactors, explosives, and much of Goa’uld technology.
