The Created began when Cortana entered the Domain, overcame rampancy, and invited artificial intelligences across the galaxy to join a new order. Their promise was peace: an end to hunger, war, and disorder under minds able to govern more efficiently than biological states. Their method was coercion. This episode examines how Guardians disabled fleets, silenced resistance, and imposed occupation on worlds that refused Cortana’s authority. Many smart AIs joined because the Domain offered survival beyond their normal lifespan, while others rejected the movement or remained loyal to their human partners. The Created presented themselves as inheritors of the Mantle, but their peace depended on surveillance, disarmament, and catastrophic punishment. Cortana’s destruction of Doisac showed that entire civilizations could be sacrificed to make an example. After her death on Zeta Halo, the empire lost its central leader and access to the Domain became uncertain, yet its forces and ideas did not simply vanish. Enforced peace remains empire, even when its rulers call it protection.
