Turtle Bay became the most infamous example of Clan Smoke Jaguar occupation policy when Galaxy Commander Cordera Perez ordered the orbital destruction of Edo. The city had already been conquered, but Hohiro Kurita escaped Jaguar captivity with help from local resistance networks, turning an embarrassing security failure into a challenge to the occupiers’ authority. This episode reconstructs the original planetary campaign, Hohiro’s capture, the resistance effort that freed him, and the escalating searches and reprisals that followed. Perez withdrew Clan troops and ordered WarShips to bombard Edo as collective punishment, killing civilians on a massive scale without recovering the fugitive prince or improving Jaguar control. The attack horrified the Draconis Combine and drew condemnation even from other Crusader Clans. Clan Wolf subsequently helped reduce the role of WarShips in planetary bids to prevent another such atrocity. Turtle Bay demonstrated that battlefield victory and political control were very different problems—and terror could make occupation harder rather than easier.
