The Free Rasalhague Republic had existed for barely sixteen years when Clan Wolf and Clan Ghost Bear advanced through its territory. Its soldiers were courageous, but the young state was geographically exposed, politically divided, and still developing the institutions required to coordinate a war across dozens of systems. This episode examines how arguments between Elected Prince Haakon Magnusson, General Christian Månsdottir, Parliament, and military commanders complicated decisions over where to concentrate defenses and whether to seek outside assistance. The fall of Rasalhague destroyed more than a capital: ministries, records, communications networks, transport coordination, and headquarters vanished together, leaving scattered units and displaced officials trying to preserve a government whose territory was disappearing. Wolf and Ghost Bear occupation policies differed, but neither restored Rasalhagian sovereignty. The Republic survived legally through its government in exile, while Tyra Miraborg’s sacrifice at Radstadt later bought the wider Inner Sphere time to prepare.
