Zellbrigen is the Clan code of honorable combat most closely associated with individual warriors engaging designated opponents rather than concentrating every available weapon on a single target. This episode explains why the practice developed and why dismissing it as simple battlefield foolishness misses its original purpose. Among Clans sharing common rules, zellbrigen reduced unnecessary casualties, protected scarce equipment, and transformed military skill into a socially recognized measure of honor.
