By the late 3040s, the Federated Commonwealth alliance represented an extraordinary concentration of territory, population, industry, and military power. The Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth had spent years integrating command structures, standardizing equipment, expanding regimental combat teams, and preparing for the eventual dynastic union envisioned by Hanse Davion and Katrina Steiner. This episode examines the alliance near its height, when its combined armed forces were the largest fielded by an Inner Sphere power since the departure of the Star League Defense Force. The recovery of lost technology strengthened that military-industrial base, while New Avalon and Tharkad stood at the centers of a political project stretching across a huge portion of known space.
