The Fall of the Star League and Kerensky’s Exodus

The defeat of Stefan Amaris did not restore the Star League. With the Cameron dynasty extinct, the Council Lords could not agree on a new First Lord, and each Great House leader saw an opportunity to advance a personal claim. This episode explains how political deadlock dissolved the institutions that had held the League together and left Aleksandr Kerensky commanding a vast army without a legitimate government to serve. Fearing that the SLDF would be divided, manipulated, or used in the coming struggle, Kerensky chose departure. In the Exodus, most of the force left the Inner Sphere for an unknown destination, taking soldiers, families, ships, and advanced equipment beyond the reach of the successor states. Those who remained faced the approaching Succession Wars. The decision preserved much of the SLDF but removed the strongest neutral military from known space.
